description The text presented here summarizes the available bibliographic data, with a particular focus on the impact of the COVID crisis on cancer screening and early management programs – illustrated by the evaluation of the impact on breast cancer screening, and the management of primary liver cancer – and on the theoretical impact expected in the coming years. The decline in overall activity in hospital imaging (–15 to –20%), observed during the Covid period was followed by a re-increase, finding levels superimposed on those of 2019, but not allowing the catch-up of the activity not carried out in 2020 due in particular to a lack of radiological equipments. To this quantitative lag must be associated a time lag in the care of patients included in screening or early detection programs in imaging, programs that were the first to be interrupted or modified during the aftermath of the crisis episodes. The impact of this lag on morbidity and mortality needs to be consolidated, as the literature data are still insufficient.
