Sumario: | Intracranial aneurysms (IA) are abnormal expansions of the intracranial arteries. Once it ruptures, the mortality and disability rate are high. The cost of imaging examinations is high, and rupture risk cannot be predicted, making it difficult for high-risk groups to be screened and prevented. Thus, clinically effective biomarkers are required to screen high-risk groups, estimate the risk of rupture, and determine the appropriate early intervention step. This article introduces the current research and application of exosome-derived microRNA (miRNA) as biomarkers of intracranial aneurysms and their limitations, which can give researchers a general overview of the research in this field. It can also serve as a reference point for selecting related research directions. |
