description Kim et al completed a pooled analysis of 8 National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project trials and highlight that, when compared with White patients, Black patients with estrogen receptor–positive (ER+) breast cancer have worse distant recurrence‐free survival, especially in the setting of neoadjuvant chemotherapy when pathologic complete response is not achieved. This editorial highlights that, to comprehend the drivers of this disparity, we must have more robust definitions of ER+ breast cancer and race.
