Sumario:SIMPLE SUMMARY: PIM kinases are enzymes that have been identified as potential therapeutic targets in a number of cancers. In this review, we summarize the functions of PIM kinases and the roles they play in the development of cancer, with an emphasis on the discoveries of their functions in pediatric malignancies. We also discuss the currently available drugs targeting PIM kinases and existing clinical trials. ABSTRACT: PIM kinases have been identified as potential therapeutic targets in several malignancies. Here, we provide an in-depth review of PIM kinases, including their structure, expression, activity, regulation, and role in pediatric carcinogenesis. Also included is a brief summary of the currently available pharmaceutical agents targeting PIM kinases and existing clinical trials.
