description Massive lower gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding from stercoral ulcers is exceedingly rare. We report a case of a middle-aged man who presented with progressively deteriorating neurologic function with constipation and subsequent massive GI bleeding per rectum. While an uncommon cause of GI bleeding, such patients require rapid resuscitation and timely diagnosis of these ulcers since the usual management of such cases will be futile and harmful due to potentially inappropriate surgical bowel resection.
