Here, we report a rare case of JE characterized by leptomeningeal enhancement without thalamic involvement. This leptomeningeal enhancement disappeared with the treatment; however, new non-specific multifocal and bilateral high signal intensities in the cerebral white matter were found on follow-up MRI.
