Sumario: | INTRODUCTION: Littré's hernia is a rare condition related to Meckel's diverticulum. Its diagnosis is per operative and its treatment is surgical. We report a case of Littre's hernia strangled, discovered in a 67-year-old adult in Togo. CASE REPORT: A 67-year-old farmer was seen in the emergency room for a painful right inguinoscrotal swelling. The diagnosis of strangulated right inguinoscrotal hernia was retained and a surgical indication was given. Intraoperatively, a Meckel's diverticulum was found in the hernia sac and an intraoperative diagnosis of Littre's hernia was made. The patient underwent a T-shaped resection with terminal ileo-ileal anastomosis. The postoperative course was simple. CONCLUSION: Littré's hernia is a rare and exceptional disease whose preoperative diagnosis is difficult. Surgery is the therapeutic modality for this condition. |
