Mutant TP53 driving the Warburg Effect in Mantle Cell lymphoma

The p53 mutation R273H in tumor cells leads to increased glucose uptake, lactic acidosis, and accelerated tumor growth, as was previously shown in mice. We here present a patient with mantle cell lymphoma harboring this p53_R273H mutation, whose clinical course is characterized by severe lactic acid...

Sumario:The p53 mutation R273H in tumor cells leads to increased glucose uptake, lactic acidosis, and accelerated tumor growth, as was previously shown in mice. We here present a patient with mantle cell lymphoma harboring this p53_R273H mutation, whose clinical course is characterized by severe lactic acidosis, hypoglycemia, and aggressive disease.
