Here we present a commented list of the brachypterous species of the subgenus Passalus (Pertinax); we redescribed Passalus gravelyi Moreira, P. quitensis (Kaup), P. striatissimus Luederwaldt, and P. sulcifrons (Kuwert) and describe a new species from Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia.
