Sumario:First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Disease Models & Mechanisms, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Jimena Monzón-Sandoval is first author on ‘ Lipopolysaccharide distinctively alters human microglia transcriptomes to resemble microglia from Alzheimer's disease mouse models’, published in DMM. Jimena is a research associate in bioinformatics in the lab of Caleb Webber at Cardiff University, Cardiff, UK, investigating transcriptomics of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived brain cell types to model neurodegenerative diseases.
