Sumario: | Gordonia species are gram-positive, partially acid-fast bacteria recognized as pathogens associated with medical devices and catheter-related infections in immunocompetent and immunocompromised hosts. We describe a rare case of Gordonia bronchialis bacteremia due to central venous catheter infection in a patient undergoing active chemotherapy for Burkitt lymphoma. We review the diagnosis, treatment, and extent of infections reported throughout medical literature about this rare and emerging pathogen. |
