Sumario:Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of closed circular non-coding RNAs widely exist in eukaryotes, with high stability and species conservation. A large number of studies have shown that circRNAs are abnormally expressed in various tumor tissues, and are abundant in plasma with long half-life and high specificity, which may be served as potential tumor biomarkers for early diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of malignant tumors. However, the role of circRNAs is still poorly understood in gastric cancer. This article reviews the research progress of circRNAs in gastric cancer in recent years so as to explore the relationship between circRNAs and the occurrence and the development of gastric cancer, and provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer.
