Sumario:Diabetic foot is a complex disease. One of its most important complications is infection with risk of limb loss. In severe cases it is also a life-threatening condition. Several guidelines are available in order to achieve the implementation of some standard of care strategies. However, these consensus documents do not address all controversial issues arising during diabetic foot infection. The present article aims to review some of these controversial aspects.
