Sumario:The aim of the literature study was to find out how the topic of participatory technology development in institutions for youth and disabled persons is treated in the scientific discourse of social work. A systematic literature review in a defined selection of relevant, predominantly German-language scientific journals on social work between 1994 and May 2020 was performed. Journals were searched for the following topics: youth (welfare), media, technology, or digitalization. The systematic literature review identified fields and topics of research. The results are presented based on categories according to the researched topics, i.e., participatory research, assistance technologies, guidance for media competence of young people, and digitalization in social work. The article points out potential areas for future research regarding participatory technology development in social work.
