description Myocardial infarction (MI) is usually discussed in light of some occlusion to the coronary circulation. It usually occurs in the setting of well-established risk factors such as hypertension, obesity, coronary atherosclerosis, smoking, and male gender. However, a subset of this population does not follow the clinical presentation seen in traditional MI. We present a case of acute MI in a middle-aged female with non-obstructive coronary arteries on coronary angiography.
