Intra-operative mycological analysis enabled the diagnosis of Phialophora chinensis phaeohyphomycosis. Phialophora chinensis is an environmental mold recently described in human pathology in cases of chromoblastomycosis. This is the first case of subcutaneous phaeohyphomycosis due to Phialophora chinensis in an immunocompromised patient.
