description Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare but aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. Because of this tumor rarity and overlapping histologic features with other malignancy types, the histopathological findings and diagnostic immunohistochemical workup are essential in establishing the final diagnosis of MPMs. We aimed to review the diagnostic criteria, WHO tumor classification updates, and immunohistochemical staining markers diagnostic value to achieve an appropriate clinical diagnosis.
