description Acute infantile hemorrhagic edema is a rare leukocytoclastic vasculitis with symptom triad of fever, large purpuric skin lesions, and edema. The major features are an ecchymotic purpura, an inflammatory edema of the limbs and face. It is a benign condition with a dramatic onset, resolves spontaneously and completely within 1–3 weeks, and is seen in children younger than 3 years of age. We would like to detail a newborn with acute infantile hemorrhagic edema, as it is a rare disease in childhood, especially in the neonatal period.
