Sumario: | Cochlear implantation is relatively a safe procedure with a favorable outcome. Labyrinthine ossification is one of the rare complications that has been observed in some occasions post-cochlear implantation. This paper report two cases of Mondini inner ear malformation cochlear implant failure associated with labyrinthine ossification, mandating revision surgery, and a literature review focusing on the reported cases, risk factors, surgical and non-surgical measures to mitigate this complication and to improve overall cochlear implant outcomes. |
