description Benzophenone and its derivatives emit crystallization-induced phosphorescence despite their simple structures. To easily modify their phosphorescence properties, we prepared phosphorescence-emitting aqueous solutions of polysaccharide–benzophenone and polysaccharide-4,4′-difluorobenzophenone complexes, which exhibit excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability.
