Sumario:This study investigates the outbreaks of Covid-19 contagion in the regions of northern Italy to establish a viable reticularity model which may be used for charting the dynamics of the initial phase in the Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, it explores the outbreaks’ onset in relation to the sporting events that took place in the weeks immediately preceding the identification of the outbreaks themselves. It also outlines the production and logistics network of these Lombardy regions, underlining their significant import–export infrastructure and dense international connections. Analysis integrates official statistical and cartographic sources with regard to the description of production and logistics networks. Records of sporting events and their respective data were culled instead from online media sources and official sports federations websites.
