Sumario:Currently, coronary artery disease (CAD) has been identified as the leading cause of mortality in Malaysia and in other countries worldwide. Genetic predisposition and comorbidities such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus, gender, lifestyle, and several other risk factors can contribute to the development of CAD. Pharmacological and surgical treatments play a vital role in improving the quality of life of patients with CAD. New surgical techniques and continuous interventions have been introduced to improve the treatment outcome.
