Sumario: | Atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) is a rare low-grade soft tissue tumor that manifests in sun-damaged skin on the head or neck of elderly patients, although it can occur anywhere else in the body. In this case, we report the presence of AFX on the right thigh of a 70-year-old white female. Upon presentation, she complained of a painless mass on her thigh with no family history of AFX or sun exposure. The mass had previously been managed by incision and drainage, with no improvement. The patient underwent a biopsy, revealing a diagnosis of AFX, which was managed by surgical removal of the neoplasm with appropriate safety margins. |
