description In “Making the EU cohesion policy work to support exports at time of Covid-19: evidence on the Italian regions”, Raffaele Boffardi, Paolo Di Caro, and Roberta Arbolino focus on another part of the policy support during the Covid-19 crisis, namely the regional trade resilience. They find a positive impact of the absorption of EU funds on regional export performance, especially with the new European strategy. They also show that a potential drop in regional exports can be limited if more EU funds are timely transferred to beneficiaries.
