Sumario: | Drug-resistant epilepsy, in a good number of cases, can benefit from surgery. It is essential to make a timely referral for the pre-surgical study. We retrospectively reviewed the clinical records of our center from 2011 to 2019. The patients who underwent temporal lobectomy were selected. After performing the data analysis, an average waiting time of 23 years was observed, similar to that observed in other countries of the American continent. There is an evident need to provide strategies to reduce the waiting time for epilepsy surgery in patients who benefit from the intervention. |
