“…The effect of soft gluon emission in hard processes is examined to all orders in QCD. Large corrections have been found, which sensibly modify the parton model results, and show the relevance of the appropriate kinematical limits in leptoproduction and in the Drell–Yan process.…”

“…The modulus direction becomes flat due to the non-minimal coupling, and the angular direction becomes a pseudo-Goldstone boson from a small breaking of the global U(1) symmetry. We show that large non-Gaussianity can be produced during slow-roll inflation under a reasonable assumption on the initial condition of the angular direction. …”

“…A history of the commissioning and the very successful early operation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is described. The accident that interrupted the first commissioning, its repair and the enhanced protection system put in place are fully described. …”

“…The results indicate a strong suppression of high-$p_T$ particles in Pb--Pb collisions, consistent with a large energy loss of hard-scattered partons in the hot, dense and long-lived medium created at the LHC. …”

“…The issue is important because different models of confinement differ in their predictions for the representation-dependence of k-string tensions, and corrections involving odd powers of 1/N would seem to be ruled out by the large-N expansion. We show, however, that k-string tensions may, in fact, have leading 1/N corrections, and consistency with the large-N expansion, in the open string sector, is achieved by an exact pairwise cancellation among terms involving odd powers of 1/N in particular combinations of Wilson loops. …”
