“…The patient had previously been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), with SCr up to 2.58 mg/dL 1 year prior, and had in all her previous laboratory tests shown hypokalemia, which was treated with conservative measures and eplerenone despite low-normal blood pressure and normal heart function. A set of coordinated measures were applied to restore the potassium deficit, revert hypovolemic hyponatremia, and support renal function (including 4 dialysis sessions). …”

“…Since right bundle pacing is not described previously and in view of anatomical complexity in location, three-dimensional (3D) anatomical mapping was done with the EnSite system and later right bundle capture is identified conventionally as that of a left bundle in a normal heart. All three patients have stable lead positions and adequate thresholds at short-term follow-up. …”

“…(1) Background: Transthoracic echocardiography is the first-line non-invasive investigation for assessing pediatric patients’ cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics, based on its accessibility and portability, but complete anatomic and hemodynamic assessment is time-consuming. (2) Aim: This study aimed to determine whether an automated software developed for adults could be effectively used for the analysis of pediatric echocardiography studies without prior training. (3) Materials and Methods: The study was conducted at the University Hospital of Bordeaux between August and September 2022 and included 45 patients with normal or near normal heart architecture who underwent a 2D TTE. We performed Spearman correlation and Bland-Altman analysis. (4) Results: The mean age of our patients at the time of evaluation was 8.2 years ± 5.7, and the main reason for referral to our service was the presence of a heart murmur. …”

“…CONCLUSION: Regional differences in APD restitution are an arrhythmogenic substrate that can be concealed at normal heart rates. A premature stimulus produces regional differences in repolarisation, and a further premature stimulus can then result in wavebreak and initiate re-entry. …”

“…It is proposed (a) that myofibrils in hypertrophied heart muscle cells have filament lattices with geometrical arrangement and macromolecular parameters that are the same as those found in myofibrils of normal heart muscle cells; and (b) that in hypertrophy the number of myofilaments increases through formation of new myofibrils, and possibly also by addition of filaments to preexisting myofibrils.…”

“…Model 1 predicts, depending on the number N (term) of end-points, fractal dimensions D of perfusion heterogeneities in the range 1.20 to 1.40 and positively correlated nearest-neighbor regional flows, in good agreement with experimental data of the normal heart. Although model 2 yields reasonable terminal flows well approximated by a lognormal distribution, it fails to predict D and nearest-neighbor correlation coefficients r (1) of regional flows under normal physiologic conditions: model 2 gives D = 1.69 ± 0.02 and r (1) = −0.18 ± 0.03 (n = 5), independent of N (term) and consistent with experimental data observed under coronary stenosis and under the reduction of coronary perfusion pressure. …”
