12361“…We imaged semi-simultaneously GCaMP6s signals in the soma, trunk and distal tuft dendrites of layer 5 pyramidal neurons in the awake mouse primary visual cortex. We found that apical tuft signals were dominated by widespread, highly correlated calcium transients throughout the tuft. …”

12362por Tan, Han L, Roth, Richard H, Graves, Austin R, Cudmore, Robert H, Huganir, Richard L“…Here, we developed a method to longitudinally monitor the expression of synaptic AMPARs across multiple cortical layers in awake mice using two-photon imaging. We observed that baseline AMPAR expression in individual spines is highly dynamic with more dynamics in primary visual cortex (V1) layer 2/3 (L2/3) neurons than V1 L5 neurons. …”

12365por Azimi, Zohre, Barzan, Ruxandra, Spoida, Katharina, Surdin, Tatjana, Wollenweber, Patric, Mark, Melanie D, Herlitze, Stefan, Jancke, Dirk“…Here, we show that serotonergic input has separable suppressive effects on the gain of ongoing and evoked visual activity. We combined optogenetic stimulation of the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) with wide-field calcium imaging, extracellular recordings, and iontophoresis of serotonin (5-HT) receptor antagonists in the mouse visual cortex. 5-HT1A receptors promote divisive suppression of spontaneous activity, while 5-HT2A receptors act divisively on visual response gain and largely account for normalization of population responses over a range of visual contrasts in awake and anesthetized states. …”

Pharmacogenetic activation of Gq-GPCR signaling in sensory SGCs decreased heat-induced nociceptive responses and reversed inflammation-induced mechanical allodynia via peripheral adenosine A1 receptor activation. …”
