14226por Stuckey, Erin M., Miller, John M., Littrell, Megan, Chitnis, Nakul, Steketee, Rick“…Scenarios were evaluated based on the reduction in all-age parasite prevalence during the peak transmission month one year following the campaign, compared to the currently-implemented strategy of MTAT 19 % population coverage at pilot and 40 % coverage during the first year of implementation in the presence of 56 % LLIN use and 18 % indoor residual spray coverage. RESULTS: Simulation results suggest the most important determinant of success in reducing prevalence is the population coverage achieved in the campaign, which would require more than 1 year of campaign implementation for elimination. …”

14231por Braack, Leo“…Despite withholding chemoprophylactics, most large companies nevertheless pursue social responsibility programmes for malaria reduction by way of vigorous indoor residual spraying and bed net provision. CONCLUSIONS: The lack of clear understanding regarding functioning of NAI and its role in malaria elimination campaigns, concerns about drug resistance and appropriate drug choice, lack of studies in the use of IPT in people other than pregnant women and small children, plus lack of guidance regarding drug options for IPT in the face of widespread resistance to sulfadoxine–pyrimethamine, means that large contractors in malaria endemic settings will likely continue to withhold malaria prophylactic drugs from locally-recruited workers, with adverse consequences on workforce well-being. …”

Upon alkylation of 3-benzylsufanyl-5-(1H-indolyl)-1,2,4-triazole with di(bromomethyl)quinoxaline, two bis(triazolyl-methyl)quinoxaline isomers were separated and characterized as (–N(1)–CH(2)–N(1)–) 11 and (–N(2)–CH(2)–N(2)–) 12. …”
