Hot and Dense QCD Matter Studies with Relativistic Nuclear Collisions in the CMS Experiment at the LHC
We review the capabilities of the CMS experiment to measure various observables in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC, including elliptic flow, jet quenching, $J/\psi$ and $\Upsilon$ production. The results are based on full simulation studies using the Monte-Carlo event generator HYDJET.
