The ATLAS Insertable B-Layer (IBL) Project
The first upgrade for the pixel detector will be the construction of a new pixel layer to be installed during the shutdown of 2013-2014. An overview of the project is given with its expected performances and description of the new technologies developed for the high-radiation environment.
