Principles of the Cutting Method Proposed for the PbWO4 Crystals of the CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter
A method for cutting the 110'000 PbWO4 crystals of the CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter is proposed. The machinery, the tooling and the sequence of operation are described. Processing parameters resulting from experimental runs are indicated. A mass production organisation is forecasted.
