Progress on Avalanche Photodiodes as Photon Detectors for PWO Crystals in the CMS Experiment
Avalanche Photodiodes have been investigated by the CMS Collaboration as photon detectors for the readout of the PWO crystals of the electromagnetic calorimeter. The properties of these devices are discussed and special attention is devoted to radiation hardness.
