Determination of the isotope shift of $^{190}$Hg by on-line laser spectroscopy

By use of a pulsed tunable dye laser the isotope shift of (T/sub 1/2 /=20 min) /sup 190/Hg in the 6s/sup 2/ /sup 1/S/sub 0/-6s6p/sup 3/P /sub 1/, lambda =2537 AA line has been measured at the on-line mass separator ISOLDE/CERN.
