Los índices de color se relacionaron matemáticamente con los metales pesados del polvo urbano.
Los metales pesados se encontraron de manera general en el orden Zn > Mn > Ba > Pb > Cu > Cr > Ni > V.
El Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb y Zn presentaron diferencias significativas entre los grupos de color.
La concentración de metales por grupos de color permitió identificar el polvo urbano más contaminado.
Los polvos urbanos que van de gris a negro son indicadores de concentraciones altas de metales pesados.

Color indices were mathematically related to heavy metals in urban dust.
Heavy metals were generally found in the order Zn > Mn > Ba > Pb > Cu > Cr > Ni > V.
