The research has a quantitative approach, with a descriptive scope, and a non-experimental design; the unit of analysis was 2018 active students, through a survey on the Google Forms platform, to know the frequency, they give to the use of social networks and if it is used during their class hours. The results mention that social networks do have an impact on their school life and that the hours they spend surfing on social networks influence their academic life. It is concluded that social networks have a negative impact on students, showing a dependence on them that affects their school performance.

El objetivo es analizar la influencia de las redes sociales en los estudiantes de la licenciatura de mercadotecnia en una Universidad Pública del Estado de Tabasco, logrando identificar los factores que influyen en su vida académica. La investigación es de enfoque cuantitativo, con un alcance descriptivo, y un diseño no experimental; la unidad de análisis fue de 2018 alumnos activos, mediante una encuesta en la plataforma de Google Forms, con el fin de saber la frecuencia que le dan ellos al uso de las redes sociales y si es utilizada durante sus horarios de clases. Los resultados mencionan que las redes sociales si tienen impacto en su vida escolar y que las horas que pasan navegando en las redes sociales influyen en su vida académica. Se concluye que las redes sociales tienen un impacto negativo en los alumnos, mostrando una dependencia con las mismas que afecta a su rendimiento escolar.
