In the title compound, C(8)H(12)O(2), the cyclohexane ring exhibits a chair conformation and the δ-lactone ring is axially bonded to the cyclohexane ring. In the crystal, molecules are linked by C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, resulting in ribbons extending along [010].
