The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(14)H(12)ClNO(3)S, contains two independent molecules. The dihedral angles between the two aromatic rings in each molecule are 81.0 (1) and 76.3 (1)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
