The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(13)H(13)NO(2)S, contains two independent molecules. The dihedral angles between the two aromatic rings are 67.9 (1) and 68.6 (1)° in the two molecules. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains.
