In the title compound, C(12)H(10)N(2)OS, the dihedral angle between the phenyl and thiophene rings is 10.2 (3)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate R (2) (2)(8) loops.
