In the title compound, C(17)H(13)NO, the N—H and C=O bonds are anti with respect to each other. The dihedral angle between the naphthalene ring system and the phenyl ring is 86.63 (5)°. In the crystal, N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link molecules into chains along [010].
