In the title compound, C(18)H(17)ClO(3)S, the 3-chlorobenzene ring makes a dihedral angle of 82.04 (5)° with the mean plane [r.m.s. deviation = 0.006 (1) Å] of the benzofuran fragment. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak C—H⋯O and C—H⋯π interactions.
