In the title compound, C(17)H(14)Cl(2)O(3), the two benzene rings are twisted by 73.6 (2)°. The twist is similar to that found in the unsubstituted compound, viz. phenyl benzoate. In the crystal, inversion dimers are linked by pairs of C—H⋯O interactions.
