Catalase as a regulator of reactive sulfur metabolism; a new interpretation beyond hydrogen peroxide(✩)()

Catalase regulation of RSS bioavailability- Under normoxic conditions, catalase can oxidize SO(2), H(2)S, and H(2)Sn species to as yet unidentified H(2)SnOy species. Conversely, catalase reduces sulfane sulfur species to H(2)S under hypoxic conditions. [Figure: see text]
