Vinylsilanes in Highly Diastereo- and Regio-Selective Synthesis of Dihydropyrans

[Image: see text] Borontrifluoride etherate (BF(3)·OEt(2)) can be efficiently used for the synthesis of dihydropyrans from triethylsilyl homoallylic alcohols and aldehydes in good yields. The reaction is highly diastereo- and regio-selective.
